MAGNATE, The Cafe Owned by BTS Jimin's Dad: A Must-Visit in Busan

If you're a fan of BTS, then you'll know that member Jimin is originally from Busan. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit MAGNATE, the cafe owned by Jimin's dad. Even if you're not a fan of BTS, MAGNATE is a really cool cafe that is worth checking out! The cafe has a really unique vibe and offers some great food and drinks. I definitely recommend paying a visit to MAGNATE next time you're in Busan!

There are still a lot of people who aren't aware that MAGNATE, run by Jimin's father BTS Jin, has just opened in 2019. In addition, Otsu Seiromushi, the restaurant co-owned by BTS Jin and his brother, is easily accessible because it is located in Seoul.

MAGNATE, on the other hand, is a little more difficult to get into due to its distance from Seoul if you visit Seoul. If you are visiting Busan or live there, however, it should certainly be on your list. Busan is quite simple to walk around and MAGNATE is conveniently located near several other attractions that may be of interest to you.

One of the ways to get to MAGNATE is by taking the subway. The cafe is located near exit number 4, Motgol station on line 2(Green Line). Once you exit the subway, it's a short walk to the cafe. I'd recommend getting there early because it can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends.

The interior is stunning, with a lovely aesthetic that entices the eye.

The designers of MAGNATE chose a streamlined hotel bar motif for the cafe. The entire atmosphere shifts as you exit Busan's fresh sea air and walk through the door. Regardless of when you come, it's like walking into a luxury club after hours. Furthermore, the cafe is enormous. In particular, when compared to what can be found in Seoul, it's definitely on the larger side. It has a beautiful outdoor terrace. The cafe can accommodate over 100 people at once which is great because you won't have to worry about not being able to find a seat on weekdays.

More than just a Café.

The cafe has a lot of intricate décors, but it doesn't appear crowded in the enormous room. As a result, it's an excellent place to just sit and relax. The exhibition space was packed with caps and other miscellaneous items, however, they weren't random objects for me — I recognized a cap worn by Jimin.

I noticed antique trinkets strewn around the cafe as well as various forms of art. In contrast to the cafe's chilly, clean atmosphere, rusted shelves, and other elements will pique your curiosity. Since it is a cafe created from an old textile mill, I was able to detect the natural retro feeling without fake vintage furniture.

The feeling of openness is excellent, and the sensation is cool, as the wall is composed of huge glass. And I had a good time observing high school students practicing dancing outside the window.

BTS's music is streamed and played on a daily basis.

Drinks and desserts are attractive to the eye.

Even though the interior, which features a magnificent chandelier, is really fancy, the prices on the menu are average for an independent cafe. The cost of a drink is about 6,000 won, and a slice of cake will set you back around 7,500 won. The menu's quality and breadth are comparable to those at other restaurants.

The cafe offers a basic coffee menu, cold brew coffee, ade drinks, herbal teas, and seasonal fresh fruit juice beverages. There are also two ice cream menus available. The cafe also has a variety of bakery meals such as cakes and sandwiches. A variety of pieces of cakes, croissants, and sandwiches is available for purchase. You won't be able to finish everything on your own; it's enjoyable to watch others try.
